Reviewer: Kristjan,
I have a 13 inch Aluminium Macbook and a rather small Axio backpack for it so I was looking for a display small enough to fit into my bag. I use this display to park those annoying little toolbox windows in MS Office, Omnigraffle, Photoshop etc. that always seem to be getting in my way. I also use it for things like terminal and console windows since I would otherwise have to constantly switch between them and Xcode/SQLDeveloper/Eclipse or what ever other applications I am working with. The display is a little bit on the small side, I would have liked it to be 800x800 pixels but I'm not complaining. It can be rotated into both landscape and portrait orientations and folds up with a protective cover over the LCD into a package more than small enough to fit into the my very cramped backpack. The one thing I think could be improved would be automatic switching between landscape and portrait modes by simply rotating the display. As is the OS X driver has to be manually switched between these modes via display preferences. The display works excellently with my MacBook the only problem I ever had was when I unplugged the monitor while the computer was hibernating and the OS did not seem to realize it had been removed and kept the second desktop alive even if the monitor was gone but that only happened once.
Perfect!

I purchased this as a lap top dual screen display hooked to a Telescope taking astronomy pictures. The photo's are viewed here while I do other things with the computer. The low profile fold-up capabilty is unique and perfect for my limited transport and storage needs. The construction is better than I expected and the USB power needs fit my application (AC power is not abundant where I set up telescopes). The picture quality is equivalant to what I get on my lap top and hook up was straight forward on VISTA. The USB cable is not an issue. A dual-port USB came with the monitor but that was too bulky (and long). I replaced it with an old Olympus digital camera single port USB that had the same connector (but much shorter) and it works fine. So far (one month) the UM-71OS has done exactly what I had hoped for. There are no "CON's". The price is well worth the unique features (fold up, USB power, and rotational screen). I would and have recommended it to friends and associates.
Great on-the-go secondary monitor

I purchased this because I am a wandering nerd. Naturally I take a computer with me, so it and all its accessories have to be ultraportable. The primary uses I get from this are as a dedicated chat window and a tool palette for graphics programs (yes, I do graphics on a netbook...) It has proved to be well worth the price I have paid for it thus far.
As to its specs, it's bright enough to almost be too bright - I routinely run it at its lowest brightness setting. The resolution is quite good - 800x480 is only a little less than my primary monitor, actually. It was a little difficult to get set up - I'm using Windows 7 and the CD it came with doesn't work for 7, but the drivers were very easy to find on the company's website. It works like a charm now - it's seldom if ever that I'm not using it, even when I am attached to a larger monitor as well. It also doesn't add too much of a drain to my batteries - I get about five hours out of a full charge if I'm running at my lowest settings and the monitor is attached, down from about eight.
Essentially, it's exactly what they advertise it to be - a great way to add some extra desktop space, especially if you like to travel.
Works great!

Reviewer: Lordgrae,
I received the monitor quite quickly. It worked out of the box without using the installation disk that came with it. It creates a nice little pocket desktop for holding my IM clients, mp3 program, clock, ventrilo, and any other small utility programs you might run. Also, I use one monitor for my PC and my multiple game systems. This little monitor lets me keep track of my messages and email while using my main monitor for things like console gaming or watching a blu-ray movie.

The only downside, which isn't due to a specific property of the monitor, is that you cannot mouse over to the monitor while in a full screen game without alt-tabbing. Even so, I've found it to be quite useful.
Great little monitor

Works very smoothly. Does everything they say it does. Plug it in and go.

Great for a dedicated chat window ...
